Thea Fiatarone is St. Hilary's Director of Missions, and she carries both halves of that title — what the parish does for its own neighbours and what it does several thousand miles away. The parish has published her in the role since the late summer of 2024, which puts her in post the better part of a year before any team flew: in August 2025 St. Hilary sent its first-ever global mission team, ten people, to Hato Mayor in the Dominican Republic, through a partnership with the non-profit 410 Bridge, with a focus on education and youth. The parish went back in July 2026 for year two, this time alongside Nativity Parish, to keep supporting the school in Hato Mayor and to run a Vacation Bible School for its children. The invitation is deliberately low-barrier: Spanish is not required, because 410 Bridge supplies translators, and that first team ranged in age from 13 to 81 — “no one is too young or too old to attend.” She is the parish's open door on the trip, by phone or across a table, and the page that asks people to “connect with Thea” signs off with the line “Dive into the unknown and take a leap.”
